No passado mês de Abril, o Campo de Golfe do Praia D’EL Rey tornou-se no primeiro na Região da Costa da Prata a ser certificado pela ISO 14 001:2004, certificação ambiental com reconhecimento internacional que ajuda as organizações a minimizar o impacto negativo no meio ambiente e apoia-os no cumprimento das leis e regulamentações pertinentes.
A Golfbéltico que tem como objectivo a gestão e manutenção deste campo, vem garantir que a sua actual manutenção e exploração são objecto de um rigoroso controlo ambiental e procura dispor de mecanismos que lhe permitam salvaguardar, ainda com maior dedicação, a protecção ambiental tanto ao nível da preservação das espécies autóctones que abundam no nosso campo, através de programas de protecção de fauna e flora, quer pela gestão adequada da utilização de químicos, fertilizantes, consumos de água e dos resíduos produzidos.
As of this month, Praia D’El Rey’s famous course is the first in the Silver Coast region to officially start implementing ISO 14001, the only environmental certification supported by the European Union which helps organizations minimize how their operations negatively impact the environment and helps them comply with the relevant international laws and regulations.
Praia D’El Rey’s new state-of-the-art golf maintenance facility, near the 5th fairway, enables the proper separation, disposal and recycling of all the residues and waste materials from the course, making it one of the most forward-thinking and environmentally-aware golf courses in Portugal.
Our new environmental management system minimizes the resort’s use of water, focuses on the use of organic fertilizers and protects the 54 endemic species of flora found on the course. We have also installed the Rainbird Nimbus irrigation system, which allows all available water resources to be managed very precisely.
