Praia D’El Rey is immediately surrounded by beautiful and renowned beaches that offer some of the best surfing conditions in the world. Baleal beach often hosts World Surfing competitions and during 1st May to 30th September the beach is patrolled by life guards.

Peniche is another pristine beach, known as Super Tubes with fantastic surfing conditions. This small fishing village offers a fabulous day out for the family with an excellent traditional setting with 16th Century architecture. You can also sample the delights of the local catch with lobster and a variety of sumptuous fish on the menu.

However, if windsurfing is more your thing, Óbidos Lagoon is a superb location to fine-tune your skills and is only a 5 minute drive away from Praia D’El Rey.
